Something So Small

The Painting for Something so small came from a time of pondering about the way God works. His ways are certainly not our ways….they are so much higher. I began by looking at the baby Jesus in a manger. The thought came to me……How could something so small become so big? Who would ever think that he would be the King of Kings? Who would ever think that God would use a little humble, baby to change the world? As human beings, we look to the outside to see how important a person is….its the natural thing to do. But God began to ask me to look into this little baby and see what He saw. I painted a lion and a lamb to represent the things I saw in this baby. The lion also represents courage to walk the destiny appointed for Him. Authority and strength are other characteristics of this lion. The lamb is meek and humble. It is also the sacrifice that Jesus layed down for our lives. This little baby signified a new beginning for the world. It seemed humble and insignificant but set the world on fire through His life and death.

Then the Lord said, “Look at the baby as not me but as mankind. I have placed that same potential in you because you have accepted me as your Lord and Savior. Do not despise small beginnings because each one of you has the ability to change the world one step at a time. You have the lion and the lamb in you. I have given you authority to tread upon demons. You have the sacrificial lamb in you to lay down your lives for me to accomplish my purposes on this earth. You may seem small, but you are big in God’s eyes!”

"I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. Matt 3:11 (NKJ)

But one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals."
And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth.
Then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne.
Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; for You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, And have made us kings and priests to our God; and we shall reign on the earth."
Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands,
saying with a loud voice: "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing!" Rev 5:5-12 (NKJ)
